About Our Sunday School Program
What is Sunday School?

It is the church organized to reach people from all nations for Jesus Christ and to teach them from the Holy Bible to follow Jesus, in both Christian belief and behavior. (Matt 28:19-20)

What are the Objectives?

  • The Glorification of God in our beliefs and behavior. (Romans 11:36; 16:27; 1 Cor. 10:31; 1Pet. 4:11b)
  • The Communication of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people groups. (Rom. 1:16; 16:25-26; Matt. 28:19)
  • The Transformation of God's children into His moral likeness. (Col. 1:28-29; 2:6,7; Rom. 8:29; 2 Cor. 3:18)
  • The Contribution of every member to the ministry of the church. (Eph. 4:7, 11-13, 16; 1 Pet. 4:10-11)

Why is Sunday School Important?

  1. It provides the basic systematic study of the Scriptures for each family member, at their own level of understanding.
  2. It provides an opportunity for its members to share their needs in their class so they can effectively minister to one another.
  3. It provides an opportunity for personal application of the Scriptures, aimed specifically for the age level of the class.
  4. It provides Christian love and a sense of belonging to each class member.
  5. It trains Christians to be more productive members of the church and gives them opportunities to develop and use their talents and skills for the Lord.

The Objectives for our Sunday School Teachers

  • Every teacher proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the whole counsel of God's Word--to present every person complete in Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:24; Col. 1:28-29; Matt. 28:19-20; 2 Tim. 3:16-17)
  • Every teacher modeling the life of Jesus Christ before their class members--"in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity" (1 Tim. 4:12, 16)
  • Every teacher praying for his/her class members. (Eph 6:18; Col. 4:2a)
  • Every teacher trained and equipped for their ministry:

-- Trained to correctly handle God's Word. (2 Tim. 2:15)

-- Trained in the contemporary methods of communicating the Bible lesson to their particular age group.

  • Every teacher mentoring another apprentice for the teaching ministry.
  • Every teacher evaluating themselves and improving their skills.
  • Every teacher leading their class to reach out to the lost and the untaught.
