NFBC Help Center - Quicktime Fix

Quicktime videos show a big Q and don't play...what do I do?:

There is a simple fix for the Quicktime problem most have. The thing is Quicktime doesn't come with its internet settings set properly so when you update or install Quicktime fresh, you need to set them right for things to work.

Follow these instructions carefully:

1) Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel. (for you XP users its just Start > Control Panel)

2) The control panel will open and you should see a bunch of icons. Choose the one called Quicktime.

3) The dialouge box opens for the Quicktime Preferences. Choose the tab called Browser.

4) Down below you'll see a button called MIMEĀ Settings. Click that and a box should appear.

5) You'll see a series of check marks, some unchecked, some checked, some grey. Check them all so they are all chosen.

6) Choose Ok when finished and click Apply.

7) Open up a video on our website and it should start playing after a few moments.

Note: Even with these set right, depending on your connection speed it still might take a moment for the video to appear and beging so be patient. If you wait for a long time and nothing happens or your still having trouble, contact our media department here.
