NFBC History
For several years a few Christian families in the Youngstown-Lewiston NY area recognized the need for an evangelical Bible-teaching church. With this burden upon their hearts they began meeting regularly in prayer seeking God's leading concerning this matter. They were able to purchase a building in Youngstown NY, and with the aid of the American Mission for Opening Churches the group called a pastor and began holding services in October of 1969. By August of 1973 the church became self-supporting and called it's own full time pastor. As the work grew it was necessary to look for larger facilities. A building was then purchased on No. Second Street in the village of Lewiston, and Services began in January, 1979. Niagara Frontier Bible Church grew in response to the great need in it's surrounding community.
By the year 2000 the Sunday morning average had grown by twenty percent. Every week there have been new people worshipping with us for the first time. In March 2001 we welcomed an Associate Pastor in charge of the Youth Programs to reach the young people of Western New York. Through God's grace, we outgrew our location on Second Street. After much prayer a decision was made to sell the building on Second Street and look for a new location.
In 2003 we purchased the previous Lutheran Church of the Escarpment building and it's surrounding land on the corner of Bronson Drive and Upper Mountain Road in Lewiston. An adjoining new worship center was completed in 2006 and this is our current place of worship.
